Our Services & Specialties

  • Whole Child is experienced in working with Selective Mutism and Social Anxiety. We work with children preschool aged through adults, and have extensive experience in working with the teenage population. We offer 1:1 behavior therapy and small group work in the office, via Telehealth and in community locations. Partnering with parents, schools, and medication specialists is an integral part of our work. We offer an intensive camp each summer for preteen and teen girls that is focused on developing peer connection, coping with anxiety, and building social confidence.

  • Whole Child offers a diverse array of social skills development services to help our clients to build and maintain meaningful relationships. Many of our children on the Autism Spectrum, with social anxiety, and Selective Mutism have difficulties contacting rewarding relationships in the social arena. We work 1:1, in groups, and in collaboration with parents and schools to help children to develop social understanding, important relationships. and to better navigate the social world in a variety of environments. The work we do can be done in home, in the office, and in the natural environment where these social skills are most often needed.

  • We offer neurodiversity affirming behavior therapy solutions for some of the challenges that come with living in a neurotypical world. We recognize and affirm the inherent dignity of each child’s neurological makeup and help children and families to optimize their given strengths and to achieve meaningful and rewarding engagement in all important relationships and environments. We specialize in developing communication skills and social understanding as well as improving functioning in the home and at school, all while building self esteem, self-efficacy and independence. We meet in the location of the family’s choosing either in-office, in-home or in the community and are pleased to be a collaborative part of our clients treatment teams. We offer focused therapy which is most appropriate for autistic clients needing low levels of support and see our role as helping to enhance the lives of those we serve.

  • Whole Child uses a behavioral framework for changing the course of depression and preventing substance use in teens. We work with children and families to create an environment that supports healthy choices and deep connection. We use a combination of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Behavioral Activation, parent engagement, and strengths based principles to improve the lives of those we serve and help our clients to move toward a brighter future.

  • We offer parent coaching in conjunction with our one-on-one work with clients or as an independent offering. We help parents to understand what contributes to and maintains a variety of behavioral challenges in both neurotypical and neurodiverse kids and help them to make the changes necessary to support their children’s and their family’s goals.

  • Whole Child is pleased to collaborate with schools as either a part of the treatment team, as educational advocates, or to support and train school personnel to help children achieve optimal functioning in the school environment.
